Pros

Decent pay and benefits I guess but I didn't use the benefits

Cons

Corporate is incompenent at best. Had no plan to open up new stores outside of Dodgeville. They should have stayed in Sears where some sort of plan was there for them instead of attempting to make something up as they go along. Who opens a store with no Policy and Procedure Manual? I have never worked for a company so insensitive for the people that worked for them. The entire management team had such anxiety working there, it was awful. If you're looking for work/life balance, this isn't it.

Pros

It's a decent company and a lot of talented and dedicated people work there.

Cons

It's a large publicly traded company that only really cares about the bottom line, protecting its executives salaries, bonuses and stock options and "shareholder value." They actively promote it as a "great place to work" but it isn't. To be clear, it used to be a long time ago when it was privately owned by its founder. Now, not even close. Great companies find ways to keep employees happy and employed while being successful at the same time. When the coronavirus hit and the business went south for a few months, they used it as an excuse to permanently cut about 140 salaried people, many of whom had spent most of their careers there. You need a job? Check em out. But don't count on anything like loyalty or respect being a two-way street. You'll be a number with a dollar figure attached to you.
