Pros

Fair work/life balance w/good company benefits (Blue Cross Of IL/FL) & PTO Most recently Flex w/working remotely for the past yr. Many employees have been with co.for several yrs. Only certain depts have high turn over rate

Cons

No room to move up within your dept or in the organization. Very little adv. opportunities No desire or initiative to want or encourage open discussion for process improvements or how to utilize current programs we have already more productively. A terrible corporate culture of "Its Always Been Done this Way" motto even if its outdated & extremely time consuming. Any new processes that may help the dept as a whole; you will just have to do thos steps yourself and/or let your fellow team members aware of an easier solution because management will NOT implement or discuss the findings. Even when it saves time & effort. Clear knowledge & no effort to hide the Favoritism within depts. Easily seen & known by all. Very few promotions but the when there is one, it's not how well can you do the job, rather who the hiring manager likes & has a friendship with. - All in all, Landstar is a entry level, not too complicated work force even in higher management. If you want to stay in the same position/title & not complain of pack of fair compensation, then this place is for you. Pay is low & Not competitive but the overall benefits are good. The work for many depts is not for complex & all processes have been same for decades so since u learn the job; U got it down until you retire -Also the entire Rockford Office Lacks diversity. Primarily older caucasian women. Even when hiring, they only chose the older white women. The entire building has about 10 maybe other ethnic groups. Some depts have No minority at all. So there's that as well.
