Pros

Work days are Monday through Friday with the latest shift being 10AM to 7PM. They are very understanding if you have a valid reason for being late or calling out as long as you do not make a habit of it. If you like working in a typical, corporate cubical environment where you come in, do your job and then leave it at the office when your shift is over, Landstar is good place to do it at.

Cons

A few of their departments are understaffed which creates an extremely stressful environment to operate in. When the department is busy, one person carries out the workload of four and because the department remains understaffed, there is very little opportunity for advancement. / You must show proof of medical coverage if you do not want to participate in their insurance programs, otherwise you are forced to participate. / Their corporate culture is stagnant.

Pros

Work/life balance is good There are some good people with good intentions that work here Involved with the community The company has an in house training department

Cons

Low wages as a result of all the money going out to the VP's and above No more quarterly bonuses-which was a selling point when I was hired Technology and the IT methodology is very outdated. If you want to work in an Agile work place don't look here No stock options for high performing employees

Pros

Very good company to work for. As long as you know and follow the rules/laws you will get along well. Be courteous and professional with them and they will be the same with you.

Cons

There are sometimes a lot of layers you will have to work through to get your questions answered. Not always a one phone call fix.
