      Great place to work with smart researchers, but 100% soft funding is stressful

      Pros

      I enjoy working with and learn from all the smart researchers around me. Admin and IT/HPC staff are very kind and capable.

      Cons

      100% soft funding makes fund-raising extremely important in surviving and thriving in this environment. This has led to people with great technical skills move too early to managerial roles. Career support for postdocs is lacking.

      Pros

      The people who are dedicated employees and carry out their responsibilities wisely are great to work with and interesting to interact with.

      Cons

      Too much political games and keeping the same "dysfunctional" hierarchy in place. Scientists are productive; however, the rest of the organization "operations" is a waste of taxpayers money.
