Pros

Not micromanaged (pro and con) and coworkers were nice. Ability to work from home when have to. Quiet atmosphere. Health insurance benefit was nice.

Cons

Management is POOR. There are no staff meetings. No direction. You are pretty much are just expected to do the work, ask no questions and get very little gratitude for doing it. Bonuses are hard to obtain and QC is a joke. Never had any personal conversations with management, no "have a happy holiday" or "enjoy your vacation". It's pretty much work work work. Only hear from manager when there is an issue or a rush loan. Lastly, they promote individuals that really don't always deserve it and makes you wonder why.

Pros

The people you work WITH are generally pretty great. You'll always be pretty busy.

Cons

The people you work FOR are out of touch with today's society. When a problem arises, the solution is secondary to finding someone to blame. The employees that management decide to promote leave your head scratching. You will be micromanaged constantly and interrogated when there are any delays. Extremely high turnover, people leaving this company almost on a weekly basis. There used to be a workplace survey every year, and the results were generally positive. But when the results became negative, rather than fixing the issue they just stopped handing out the survey. The pay is also below average. You're frowned upon for not working overtime.

Dysfunction at many levels

Pros

Some people to work with, specific people that I worked with were fantastic employees and individuals. Occasionally the organization manages to hire a talented group or individuals. Banking products were generally good.

Cons

The great people that I knew and worked with in the organization were never rewarded or looked at for promotion; instead, less competent folks who kowtowed to senior management were promoted. Initiative and talent are rarely (if ever) rewarded. Compensation is generally low and the bonus structure is a joke. Feedback is generally not welcomed by anyone above the branch level unless it is unreserved praise for current policy.
