Pros

Attempts to be inclusive and diverse.

Cons

Not enough support for New To Profession teachers. The community does not support the teachers. Pay is not competitive enough.

Doing Their Best

Pros

This district has done their best to support their staff during a pandemic. They try to appease all stakeholders, which is no small task. District and School level administrators genuinely want the best for teachers.

Cons

Districts' hands are tied by the state education agency (TEA), but this district waited too long to push back on the mask mandate ban. When they did institute a mask mandate, they offered an easy opt-out form for families, essentially negating the whole thing. I was forced to risk my and my family's health by going into a school building with so many unmasked, unvaccinated students.
