Nice people but shut off to outsiders!!

Cons

Hard to get an interview. Very arrogant!! Seems to be a 'good ole boy' system. It's not what you know...it's who you know!!

Pros

Great parents and supportive community nice facilities. Most principals are supportive but there are a few that are just not as socially aware as they should be in a position that requires a great deal of interaction with the public.

Cons

Teacher burnout is high. No work /life balance for elementary teachers. Few young teachers are being hired and when they are, they leave the profession quickly.

Opportunity for input. It's no different than any other public school system-constricted by budgets. LISD does the best they can.

Cons

Input isn't really taken. Education is flawed in general. Can't pay employees well for what they do.
