Frat club, not a company

Pros

Nothing really, except that there's free coffee for employees

Cons

Frat club culture, HR team is run by novices and amateurs, total edtech bro culture, most senior managers are bullies, zero accountability. Don't trust the high ratings. HR asks employees to post high ratings on Glassdoor and say good things about the company. They have to share screenshots. Really, this stuff happens. Can you believe?

Pros

1. Convenient work from home shift 2. Professional trainings provided 3. Easy communication through various channels & in-built systems 4. HR is easily approachable, to hear the concerns

Cons

1. Senior management - never available to answer queries either through messages, calls 2. Undue pressure is built to reach the targeted numbers 3. Talks are in and around numbers only, nobody wants to understand the lean season going on right now in the study abroad domain 4. Senior management does not listen to counselors' concerns and ground reality of the challenges faced 5. Comparison of work between team members & other teams on a daily basis 6. Manager does not care about the team & they always get their work done from their juniors 7. Way too much internal politics, which hampers the student application process

Pros

Good learning curve for initial few months. Tech Managers and people in general are knowledgeable and helpful.

Cons

This is a company that relies on a lots of ops along with marketing. That leads to tech folks become like second world citizens. Tech Managers have minimal say in tasks planning and they can't deny weird requests from the product/business team. It would have been alright if product team was top notch, but it isn't. Product Development at Leap is quite chaotic and they want everything to be done yesterday. They'd always pick an immediate solution as compared to a scalable solution and that brings the chaos to tech teams. APMs are usually immature and so is the leadership and hence the cycle continues. You can look up on LinkedIn and see how initial PMs (and Engineers) have already left the company. Slightly tedious but do this exercise if you are actually considering to join.
