Greedy C-Suite = Toxic Culture

Pros

-It's a job -Salary is ok until they decide to cut you to hire your position at a lower rate -Benefits are nice -Remote -Some decent co-workers

Cons

-VPs are foot soldiers of the C-Suite and will throw their own team members under the bus to save their own bonuses and scapegoat "low performers." They will make lists and fire anyone who challenges the questionable operations and blatant favoritism. -Poor leadership. Pro-tip: If you want to keep your job for a bit here, make sure you figure out how to suck up to your boss. It doesn't matter if you're working overtime, finishing all your tasks quickly and efficiently you will get marked on performance if you are not well-liked or socializing the way VPs want. Fake it if you can, play relationships carefully but most of your co-workers are also going to be snitching on your to your boss out of fear of losing their own jobs. Trust no one. -Mass layoffs, firings with absolutely no transparency or accountability from leadership. I'm sure there have been lawsuits and complaints filed against this company for unethical firing practices. -Extreme burnout, roles may be remote but they will overload you and have you working through the entire day with no breaks.

Pros

Remote work, though you will be required to travel to California each quarter.

Cons

My experience working at LegalZoom was disappointing to say the least. The stress levels were debilitating, and the chaos within the product organization was overwhelming. Designers were not only expected to manage their own workload but also take on the responsibilities of a product manager due to a lack of talent and experience in product leadership. This resulted in constant confusion and frustration, making it a very challenging environment to work in. The culture severely lacked any sense of work-life balance. It was clear that leadership had no vision or clarity on the company’s direction. This disorganization trickled down to every level, creating an environment where extreme micromanagement was the norm, and as a designer, I felt completely stripped of any autonomy. If you’re looking for a place where you can grow, be creative, and maintain your sanity, this isn’t it. I would not recommend LegalZoom to anyone who values their mental health and a positive work enviornment.
