The ship is sinking

Pros

The offices are great, they will help pay for your license, the people you meet are diverse and lovely, there are many leads that do care, WFH, good benefits plus a few extra perks here and there. The new VP of CX means business which probably is a good thing in the long run but….

Cons

Toxicity only gets worse before it gets better. The values are a trap. Be bold - but only if your opinion falls inline with what senior management wants. Be customer obsessed but don’t dare ask for exceptions. Be big hearted - but be careful of over sharing or making time in your day to check in on your friends without your metrics plummeting. They way leads pull metrics and senior management pull metrics are very different and create confusion of your actual performance. Recently 52 people were let go for performance issues. As the names started to become “deactivated” I thought sure there were a lot that it made sense- they shouldn’t have been hired in the first place. There was a lack of reading compensation skills so many of these were the problem. But there was a good handful that were TOP performers and only had “poor” metrics because they spend a lot of the day working on “secret projects” (which was ENCOURAGED) or other special projects with other departments to help lift the teams as a whole , but that wasn’t accounted for. So yes on paper they did half the number of tickets as another person - but they were working in the other responsibilities their lead asked them to do. There is no empathy, or creativity allowed anymore. The best talent /leads are leaving for new/better opportunities leaving those of us that remain in the dust to just turn into a robotic call center. The ship is sinking and it’s only a matter of time before we all drown.

Good ole’ bait and switch

Pros

Ability to go in office if local. You are showered with gifts, food and booze in office.

Cons

Management. Continuous empty promises without action. Management will make faces at you when not understanding or liking your stance. Mind you these meetings also have your peers who can see this behavior. When addressed with management - you are given corporate jargon as a response with zero understanding. Majority of employees are outraged with the way management treats them. Management does not listen to you when asked for your option. They have already formulated their determination but attempt to make you feel as though you are part of the change. Most meetings management reads slides and talks at you rather than with you. The pet department is ran by leaders who do not have pet experience. The team leads do - they should be running the depo. Pay. Employees speak up frequently about inconsistencies with pay and development. Have been asked to do this and then they are gaslit. In your interview, unless change now - they don’t tell you that you do not get a raise on your 1 yr unless you meet a set of closed claims (can happen anything within 3 mk of 1 yr if In claims) or get promoted. This NEEDS to be something you dispose as the time of your interview not 5 mo after you hire someone. One of the values is to be bold and speak up but if you do you are looked at as a bad egg. Be fearful of speaking your mind here unless you know your manager has the same idea. Lemonade provides trainings for management in empathy and how to do right by their employees. My manager did not follow these processes or guidelines. How can you train other to be a certain way yet you do not walk in the same shoes?

Pros

The team I was working with was fun to collaborate with, the pay was great, and the work load was managable which I cannot say for any other Insurance Provider I've ever worked for.

Cons

There were no cons in all honesty!
