Pros
- Benefits/401K - Proper pay for the industry
Cons
- “Work hard” culture will not pay off. Company ran by “clique” management and if you’re not liked by them. Start looking elsewhere - No structure in educating actual construction. You will just be a babysitter for trade partners - Great time off benefits, but good luck getting them approved. Then once approved no one will oversee your role. - Timeline schedule always unrealistic. They will drive you down to the ground pointing fingers but no action - Final quarter of fiscal year you will have no work/life balance. They will expect you to work until their numbers are met. 7am-7pm will be a norm. - Seniors/area construction managers have minimal control over actual project management. “Yes, sir. I will get it done” culture with minimal control. - If you have the role of a “Senior construction manager” or “Construction Manager” you will need to take time to learn about construction on your own terms as minimal employees know how to even read plans, create schedules, perform RFIs/Submittals. Again, not a real title for the job but the company name helps.
