Pros

Decent health benefits, good co-workers, unlimited vacation (ironically you can't fully take advantage of it if you're trying to sell on company's behalf).

Cons

DCG executives can't seem to grow former IBM x86 server business's market shares and revenues quarter-over-quarter, year-over-year consistently. Financials are manipulated to paint a rosy picture. North America top executive changes every 2 yrs because revenues and profits (PCON) aren't growing at acceptable pace. Sales quotas are delivered towards the end of the quarter once Mgt has a good idea where most deals will land to keep sales teams from overachieving revenue objectives and commission payouts. Current sales compensation plan penalizes and or forces sales reps to go negative/pay back commission draws (which are forced upon them to accept at the beginning of the fiscal year) if they don't hit 50% quota target if/when they leave the company does not motivate and retain good sales people. Morale is already quite low on DCG, but much different on PCG business. Find a job within PCG if you want to align with potential success.

Pros

A pay check that clears the bank, at least for the short term. Working on my CV on company time!

Cons

What was a good company before being acquired, is gone. The talent and innovation has been destroyed by incompetent leadership. Fiscal losses continue to mount due to lack of effective leadership, strategy and execution!

Pros

Lenovo sells a wide range of products: servers, storage, PCs, laptops, tablets and phones. Potential to touch a large swath of the IT customers.

Cons

Lenovo == layoffs. NEVER ever sign with this company without an exit plan (stock options or buyout). They continually lay people off every quarter regardless of performance. Technical management is inept at best, and the #1 position in PCs is smoke and mirrors. They bought other companies are quickly "outsourcing" everything to low-cost cheap China creation (hence the security bugs and continuous hardware quality problems). This company aspires to be Apple but lacks the creativity, technical skills and commitment. The CEO barely speaks English -- his continuous broken English is an embarrassment to all Lenovo employees.

Lenovo Response

Readers, please take this comment with a grain of salt. Much of this is incorrect. We value constructive criticism on this site. But many of the claims here are gross exaggerations. Some of the comments have validity, such as we aspire to be innovators, and we are the #1 PC company in the world. Our CEO continues to be listed in major publications as one of the best in the world. Our company is global and values employees from all countries and expects respectful points of view from our employees. Lenovo has thousands of employees in various countries and we all work together as a single global company to achieve our clear goals. We do not typically expect people to work on Saturdays, nor do we make a habit of letting our top talent go...we have had a recent reduction do to reshaping our company due to a needed transformation to PC+ after 2 major acquisitions. We do wish you the best and ask while you are working at Lenovo to always to your best and help resolve any issues you see. We are glad you see issues, that means we can get better....it is important to share your concerns so we can improve. Please feel free to contact your manager or HR to discuss your concerns as we are here to help.
