Pros

Low pressure work environment, for a manufacturing company. Weak leadership at the very top, seems to strengthen at about senior management level on down. Company has fatal flaws that stand in the way of making great strides towards being a premier manufacturer of helicopters in the United States. Talented employee to lazy employee ratio about 1:6. If you go the extra mile and make good logical decisions, you will be offered opportunities to be promoted in almost all areas of the business on about a yearly basis. In this company, good talent is recognized and rewarded on a very favorable basis, and it's easy to be a star player compared to the status quo. Great company to work for as entry-level to 2-3 years experience, if you are ambitious and hard working. Benefits are almost unparalleled. 100% company-paid medical, dental, vision. 401k with good match, pension after 1 year, opportunities for overtime and good vacation and sick time policy.

Cons

Broken communication chains between CEO & VP level and rest of the business. Most employees can and do come to work and surf the internet for 75% of their day and get away with it. Once hired it's very difficult to be fired. This may sound like a Pro, but if you want to advance your career you will find that most employees have given up or never tried to work hard, and it will demotivate you. Lazy employees who under-perform and are never penalized breed laziness in even the most determined and passionate employees over time. Currently, the company culture is highly resistant to firing or laying off employees. Good or bad, depends on what kind of employee you strive to be. People leave on their own accord, virtually never the other way around.

Pros

Excellent pay, easy work load, exciting opportunity to build a new revolutionary aircraft, excellent tool supply, great location and company affiliation with joint aircraft manufacturing venture involving Boeing.

Cons

Management lacks the proper knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, severely unorganized, terrible understanding of lean manufacturing and supply chain management as supplies were frequently scarce. General disrespect for American workers using their power and influence to virtually berate and demean any American employee due to the fact that they paid well. It was not an uncommon sight to witness the public scolding of an American employee in front of hundreds hanger maintenance personnel. Management refused to listen to suggestions for improvement from experienced aircraft professionals with 10 to 40 years of aircraft manufacturing experience, especially when the situation clearly displayed their inexperience. Management gives the perception of poor employee relations with a track record of firing 8 minority workers in a row between August and September of 2007, with six of the minority employees being fired for less than legitimate reasons. If you are a minority working for this company, you will be constantly watched and followed, so it would be a great idea to make sure that all of your work is completed perfectly and in line with blueprints and technical data (which was rarely provided without some sort of difficulty) for any little mistake will get you fired. If you ask any aircraft maintainer, they will tell you that it is almost impossible to work without making a mistake.
