Pros

During sporting events pay is decent and literally the only reason to ever work here is if you’re desperate for money.

Cons

Where to begin? Ok: 1. HR is incredibly dismissive of workers and downright rude and combative to anyone who doesn’t sing to the tune of whatever the managers want despite if it’s actually a logically sound idea or not. 2. The worst disorganized mismanagement I’ve ever seen. Trying to find something you need to run a good bar? Vermouth? Pour tops? GOOD LUCK. Even the senior staff runs around with their heads cut off trying to find where someone chucked something. Absolutely no oversight for where things get placed and also apparently they don’t know how to run inventory. I worked a blues game at enterprise center and they had a half a bottle of vermouth for the entire night. I was ridiculed for wanting more by senior staff and then I made bank tips on martinis, or at least the five I could make until we ran out of supplies. 3. Senior workers not disciplined for obvious poor performance. Senior workers call off without notice and are apparently immune from being fired from what I was told. I also worked with two bartenders who looked like they were 50+ years old and didn’t know the difference between an old fashioned or a manhattan or, how to make an old fashioned the correct way. EMBARRASSING! 4. Flagrant OSHA violations. At enterprise center I was also told that the bars had no bar towels. Ever heard of a slip and fall? Violation. For the employee lunch, chefs left metal tongs in the food hotboxes so you could play a game called ‘do I risk burning my hand or not eat today?’ Violation. 5. At every levy managed location in Saint Louis, except the new soccer stadium, they do not provide employee parking. Essentially you have to give up an hour of your paycheck to work for these people. No wonder people just don’t show. 6. I waited over two months from my hiring date to receive a security badge so I got to stand out in the cold every shift and wait for someone with a badge to escort me in. It also took them a month to get me a clock-in code. 7. Managers don’t make and send out schedules until the last second, and that’s if they even remember to send it to you. I was left off several scheduling emails during the beginning of my time there.

Pros

I love my location and who I work with!

Cons

There is a feud between the company and the union, which I am mutually a part of. This makes work challenging sometimes.
