Pros

Excellent pay since I am at a large bar with a permanent location and guaranteed work for every event.

Cons

Poor choices for shift meal. Can feel very competitive amongst Bar staff almost like the hunger games. No opportunity for benefits, even though I work every event.

Cons

Significant disparity in meal quality between staff and management. Chronic attendance issues with junior staff. A pervasive culture of finger-pointing and blame-shifting among the line cook staff, which hinders effective teamwork. Palpable hierarchy and a restrictive culture that discourages authenticity; as a supervisor (a neurodivergent one at that), this often manifests as being excluded from critical dialogue, leading to professional isolation.
