Pros

Salaries are awesome. Most coworkers and teams are awesome. Great facilities. Great benefits (unlimited vacation in the US). Flexible work-life balance.

Cons

As the company is undergoing a shift from primarily hardware to a mix of hardware and software/solutions, it is acquiring companies at a fast pace. There are repeated rounds of layoffs. Jobs are moving to "lower-cost countries" and duplicate jobs from acquired companies are eliminated. Entire software products are being eliminated, with seeming preference to products acquired with the Kofax purchase. The unsettled nature of the company is only enhanced by certain management decisions that seem to make no sense. The company tries to understand employees' concerns by conducting semi-annual surveys, but no real action seems to be taken on the issues raised. It seems that Lexmark is allowing its recent acquisitions to run the business, rather than the other way around.

Pros

Love the environment here in Lenexa. Easy interaction with various teams here in KS and in various other office locations. My role deals with various geographies and all of the time zones in the US along with Europe. Everyone is very understanding of each other's time, meaning we have productive meetings! The Executive leadership has been a huge positive from my previous positions with other companies (including one big competitor here in KC). Flexible work arrangements, even though I have a large backlog on my desk, if I need to work from home I can. As far as vacation, I was actually scolded for working while I was on vacation! That was a welcome surprise.

Cons

Concerns over the new Enterprise software CEO has left a bad taste in many mouths around here. His track record is not the best or brightest when looking to previous positions and personnel who worked under him.
