Pros

Great work life balance. Very flexible. Can readily balance work and personal life. Tasks and responsibilities are straightforward and manageable, once fully understood. Upper management makes effort to right by employees. Decent benefits including matching 401k No micromanagement.

Cons

Disappointing middle management: managerial duties are just tacked onto non-managerial ones. Line workers answer to one manager on paper but answer to multiple ones in practice. Reviews are irrelevant - management simply throws bodies at a problem with little training, no goal setting. Management just wants problem to go away ; the quieter things are, the better. Reviews are a matter of procedure since management doesn't grasp what the employee actually does from day to day. Some middle management abusive: will hold employees to duties that were never articulated ; will state, in public, in front of other employees that "You are weak. You are unable to comprehend the job." Training is irrelevant: only a fraction of information actually useful day to day. Tasks and duties not clearly articulated, particularly when starting off. Terrible career development potential if outside sales ; even worse if in field office. Nearly exclusive reliance on contractors. Contractors will not get hired full time unless existing full time employee leaves.

Pros

It is an American firm with an open door policy so everything is layed out to everyone including the operators and they get to have a quarterly business meeting where everyone is told of the business updates.

Cons

There is not much but sometimes we have to analyze the differing culture in between regions of the global organization to understand their issues at hand.
