Pros
Pay package more than the market standards at Kolkata. Flexible timing and casual work culture. Good leave policies. Work exposure depends on the type of projects. Work in Printer domain is decreasing, however, Perceptive software, part of Lexmark, is flourishing well which mainly deals with projects of Document processing.For people who want to have a permanent base at Kolkata and have a smooth going life with fat pay check, Lexmark is a good option.
Cons
Very limited onsite opportunities. People holding the managerial positions at Lexmark Software Division are the most incompetent people, don't have the capability to bring work from HQ. Sometimes, demotivating to see non productive people being able to sustain in a Product Company . Only development center in India being at Kolkata, Oiling culture is more prevalent here than the other companies. Does heed to employee's aspirations for working in a particular domain, nor does it utilize an employee's previous experience in a particular domain . Floats non-productive impractical practices/processes for Employee Ratings/Employee Career Development Plans which most of the time are brainchild of the worthless managers , and are equally worthless.
