Pros

Salary is good to start. They try to pay at or above market average to attract talent. -Generous Time off -Bonus plan -Employee Resource Groups for women, veterans LGTBQ and other groups to help them connect, create awareness and contribute to their causes -Annual Serve Wirh Liberty activity where you get a free day off to do volunteer work and they facilitate finding good causes -Access to AI tools -Hybrid work arrangements only requiring to be in office 2 days per week -Internal consolidation is long overdue - rallying around the common goal in USRM is good

Cons

Workload has become unbearable- great time off but if you take it you can’t keep up with your workload and your review will suffer Leadership can’t prioritize to save their life (contributing to the workload issue). When bad projects or ideas do get killed they just resurface under a new name or get folded into an existing initiative. -Bonus plan keeps changing every time we have a good year. Latest change is to add an arbitrary factor so the can increase OR DECREASE it regardless of the tangible measures they put in place. -Lots of vanity metrics. Push for metrics (which is generally good) causing overswing and measuring things that don’t matter, can’t be manipulated or just “look good” but don’t add any value. -IT complicates everything. Their version of automation is making a bad process faster or just shuffling the work elsewhere (not really saving any more nor time). -USRM product org does realize how much complexity and churn the cause the organization. Current effort to consolidate products will help but the same people could make buying a glass of water complicated by adding 145 factors to measure its temperature (when all that matters is “hot or cold” ) before selling it to you.

Pros

Liberty Mutual has been a great place to work. There are real opportunities for career growth, mentorship, and internal mobility, and leadership is supportive of development. Our work is rooted in purpose, and it’s meaningful to contribute to helping people protect what matters most. The benefits are comprehensive, compensation is competitive, and the flexibility makes it easier to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Overall, it’s a supportive environment where you can grow and feel valued.

Cons

I honestly don’t have many negatives to point to—any challenges have been minor and typical of working at a large organization.
