Pros

You really get thrown into the fire and have the opportunity to wear many hats. Working for a cultural institution and client-based design subsidiary is great experience and positions you for growth in the field. Overall, good people.

Cons

Absolutely no career advancement. Long hours and poor management of staff's time. Poor communication across departments and ranks. Certain long-standing staff members make growth and innovation a challenge.

The job is exciting, there are always people around and information to learn. You are stationed with other people and can promote a learning environment

Cons

The rules are strict in terms of cell phone usage and uniform, which is similar to any other job.

Pros

Educating guests of all ages outside of the classroom setting is quite rewarding. I thought working here empowered me to really engage guests in a less conventional way.

Cons

Obviously there are some concerns about employee performance and discipline, but management could definitely trust employees to take their own initiatives.
