Disrespectful of their employees and profession.

Pros

The best is as all library work is, you get to help people better their lives. Library work is about helping your community. Not even this company could remove this perk from work.

Cons

Hostile and chaotic corporate enviroment. Wages frozen. It appears that those who are driving the company have no understanding of what a library is. Not enough employees to deal with the volume of work. Where once there were attempts of improving morale and rewarding staff it is now a place of numbers.

Pros

Solid benefits with current deductible (currently $2000) covered by company. Great team at my location.

Cons

No room for advancement. Pay rate is below industry standard. Company has no feedback process and no feeling of HR advocacy. Policies and procedures are not clearly defined. Opportunity for staff training is one day a year and peer-taught. Workload steadily increases as library usage increases, yet no investment is made to help staff assist customers better/more efficiently. Patron usability comes secondary to back-end processes.
