Pros

Flexible start times Good team under me who want to do well Cheap meals in the canteen

Cons

The whole upper echelon of the department, warehouse and Head Office are unable to live the values that they force upon us. They expect us to role model it whilst showing no Trust, Respect or Grounding. Performance is only used as a political tool to fluff those who don't need it or do need it to progress, I feel, since we moved to FM, that we/I do not belong here. HOFM do not listen to us, do not understand what we do or how to manage us and revert to policy over people which is not what Lidl say they do! The whole 'Values' and ethos of the business is smoke and mirrors to show individuals that the system is working but it, is fact, broken, There is also manipulation of the KANTAR data to show we are growing but others are growing faster and the gap is widening. The obsession with Aldi is all encompassing when the focus should be on Morrisons, Pay- on the surface is good but in reality it's very bad. I am not compensated for on call hours or weekend out of hours yet this is a contractual obligation (IT get £45 a day for call outs and they WFH!) Management- I have many masters and none of them align with each other, I feel unsupported, used and undervalued. 1-2-1 meetings are often late (because the Head Of wants to talk to my LM) at the same time my 1-2-1 is due HO give impossible deadlines with no consideration for the human factors Training is subpar but when something goes wrong or a training requirement is noted I'm made to feel like its my fault HOFM wont compromise or listen to our concerns and needs despite doing so at the start of the transition- sold a dud. Moral fibre is lacking Initiative is blocked Sycophants are rewarded No promotional opportunity's A culture of fear of Directors visits (which is fair because they turn up unannounced and get everything they demand regardless of what's happening in the Region/Dept) Sloping Shoulders everywhere but I'm to jump when everyone else says to! Gaslighted to go to meetings and events when they are not relevant to me/us and have no value other than to strip time away which could be more productive elsewhere
