Pros

- Mission of YouVersion is to get the Bible to the whole world. Everyone on the team loves the mission and it's great for us to all be on the same page about what is important and what we are trying to achieve - Flexible hours when personal needs arise - Digital release schedule allows some wiggle room on deadlines. This means higher quality releases. I came from a packaged goods company previously where deadlines were very firm so tons of overtime was needed to make the deadline. - So much personal development! The church we are working for cares a lot about every person. The training and guidance we receive is amazing. We are regularly trained in how to be an effective leader. - Always on the cutting-edge of tech. Our team size allows us to stay up to date with tech that Google and Apple are pioneering. There is relatively little legacy code, and we are always pushing the boundaries of the best trends in software. - Best co-workers ever. Every one of them is awesome.

Cons

- Compensation isn't the best

Pros

Lots of personal development, great team environment, understanding management, amazing benefits, family-focused work hours, super challenging work... I could go on forever. From day one (even before that... as early as the interview process) I've been nothing but thankful for what YouVersion has done for me and my family.

Cons

First couple months, especially, can be difficult. "It's like drinking from a fire hose" is a commonly heard phrase and it's not an exaggeration, that's literally how it'll feel some days... it can be overwhelming. You're going to learn (and keep learning) a lot about Life.Church, your team, new technologies, and yourself.

Pros

There is high intrinsic value in the work I do. I also feel like I can focus on incredible work during the week, and I feel the freedom to focus on my family in the evenings and weekends. I've learned countless skills and I'm confident there will be countless new ways for me to develop and receive more responsibility. I highly recommend joining our team!

Cons

Oklahoma City doesn't seem like an ideal location, but it's cheap to live here and the people are very friendly.
