Pros

- Everyone who works here is passionate and driven to help the organization succeed. - Management is top-notch and goes over-the-top to take care of everyone who works here. - Each department from the top down is mission-focused and does an amazing job in their respective areas. - Benefits are better than that offered by most other companies out there - Motivating and inspiring environment that always re-energizes me every day

Cons

The environment may not be for everyone. Everyone working here has a passion and drive to help the overall mission and vision of the organization, and if you aren't fully committed, you will likely not succeed.

Mostly Great Culture, But Beware of Bad Leaders

Pros

Great and important mission, many opportunities for personal growth development, competitive benefits package, casual atmosphere, awesome events and staff appreciation

Cons

1. Sacrifice is a given in ministry, but sometimes that banner is waved to keep people quiet when they have to live with the negative impacts of leaders’ poor decisions. It can feel manipulative. 2. There are several staff who have track records of bulldozing, manipulation, gaslighting, and deceit, and even though their leaders know about it, these staff members are given new opportunities with higher influence and impact. When a leader continues to allow this, the leader is the one to blame. Meanwhile, dozens of faithful, trustworthy, long-tenured staff remain in the trenches, doing fantastic work, but they are actively held back same opportunities for advancement, no matter how deserving they may be. It’s gotten to the point that it seems to be more about who likes a person than how good they are at their job. 3. Those who are not “conventionally attractive” may find it difficult to get outward facing opportunities, regardless of their skills or talent. 4. Even though there are 45 locations, only 2 are led by women, which seems to indicate a gap in leadership development between men and women for those highest campus leadership roles. We can do better!

Thank you for all the time you have invested here at Life.Church! We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. What you've described truly does not reflect the heart and values of our church. It's important to us that you feel comfortable expressing any concerns or feedback you may have with your leader. We understand that communication is key in resolving any issues, and your leader is there to offer guidance and support. Also, you can always talk with your HR partner about your concerns at hr@life.church; they would be happy to provide any help!

Certainly not for me and lots of others

Pros

I enjoyed what I did at the time. Work

Cons

The likelihood of you advancing is not very there. Compensation is horrible. Very hard to support a family on the offered salary and felt like salary raises were contingent on a very hard annual review. Honestly, there were months that it was hard to make ends meet. Spouse most assuredly needs to work. They preach about everyone being a family and being part of a ministry, but at the same time, it is also very much a business to them. Management will certainly bring up the business aspect anytime they feel you are doing something wrong and will use that in your reviews. But it's all for the ministry! See how confusing this is?
