Pros

1. Pay is higher than average, even for the supplement industry. Even if you're on the lower end of the hierarchy, you can earn as much as a manager at GNC or Vitamin shop 2.Good health and dental benefits. Several options for 401k, etc. Insurance is free for the individual and there are fewer and fewer places that offer this. 3. Great Co-workers. The camaraderie and sense of ownership is really hard to come by. 4. If you are interested in the supplement industry, Life Extension's research and formulations are beyond anything that other supplement companies are doing. 5. Great Opportunities to meet interesting people in the health and wellness field. 6. Annual Bonus. 7. Unparalleled customer service

Cons

1. Corrupt and dysfunctional office politics that are very pervasive throughout the company. Witnessed several cases of constructive termination with employees. 2. High turnover among call center and support employees. 3. Call center employees are monitored and have to follow a rigid script that has more rules than an NFL playbook. A customer can report having a great experience, but someone can still fail a call based on not following this script. 4. Customer service comes at a cost of employees. The "never say no" works against the company and customers can be unnecessarily rude, mean, verbally aggressive for no reason and management has no backbone in order to address this, so consequently they let customers run amok. 5. Bad communication on all levels. 6.Annual Bonus-- becoming harder to obtain and rules changed every year regarding the criteria for earning a bonus. This might be due to the larger number of employees over the years. 7. Dysfunctional CEO and upper management that has the mentality that everyone can be replaced. 8. Little to no career development. 9. Any career development depends on who favors you in upper management. Lack of Honesty in this area.

Pros

Health insurance and good coworkers (not managers or CEOs they are the worst but direct supervisors are mostly good)

Cons

Extremely strict and subjective QA that changes constantly and is endlessly useless and confusing. A HEALTH COMPANY that won't accept a doctor's note so you get points, have to get FMLA. No separate point free sick days! Absolutely awful treatment of people! CRUEL AND OPPRESSIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT. customers and managers mistreat you constantly, they won't ban chronics who spend no money but harass us every day. Retention is worse than ever because they severely micromanage every second of your day more and more, it used to be much more relaxed. People won't work for you for long when you micromanage them to the EXTREME. Not enough time off, schedules aren't flexible or easy to change, could easily be full-time remote but CEO won't allow it This job is so bad people quit during training or shortly after in droves, classes are smaller and smaller because no one wants to work here since it is so awful.

Pros

Fellow employees are great! They feed you.

Cons

You will be micromanaged. The customers are abusive. Every year they cut bonuses and raises so they can invest more into the company and the benefits get worse. Plus you get no sick time or personal days. If you call out, you get a point no matter what unless you make the time up. Imagine being sick, needing to rest to recover, you have a Doctor’s note,, and you’re told unless you work during your recovery, you’re getting an attendance point. You will get written up a lot for minor things. The job is extremely stressful. The QA is subjective. 2 people can do the same QA and 1 person passes you, the other person fails you.
