Pros

membership, 24hr shifts, dental coverag

Cons

I had tried for many months to get a job with Lifetime Fitness it had the hrs and convenience that I needed to have a family life too, plus a free membership. And being a memeber for 4yrs it seemed, from the outside, like a great place to work. I finally get the job and I was so happy. Well it turns out to be the WORST company I have ever worked for. They have no idea how to treat their employees. The turnover rate is so high and now I know why. Low pay, wich would be ok if you were able to do OT but OT is not an option. HIgh turnover rate so very hard to gel with those you work with. hard to get shift coverage 7 days of PTO per year this includes sick and vacation days. I have a family and if kids or I get sick i now can take a family vacation becasue I dont have the time. I have family out of state and go visit atleast once a year and need a week for travel. expected to be in uniform go pick up a radio and then punch in, this is time I am expected to work and not getting paid for. there are no incentives

Pros

There is a high need for dietitians and the staff seems really nice. With this need there are seemingly plenty of potential referral opportunities from the large personal training staff. Another "pro" is that the company seems to promote fairly quickly to higher levels of the company.

Cons

This position is 100% commission. I thought there may be a base salary but there is not. If you are not counseling someone then you are making no money at all. You receive a commission off of referrals, supplements and lab testing. You are expected to walk the floors and attain clients by asking them to seek you or they see you and are inspired to inquire about your services. Once client attained you provide a percentage of your earnings to the company. The longer you are with the company the more you get to keep for yourself and the less Life Time keeps.

Pros

Peers are friendly and nice to work with

Cons

- Essentially zero onboarding, with expectation to ask peers who are swamped with other tasks on all inquiries -Little to no guidance on expectations, consistently turned away when I offered to help members of the team - Witnessed senior employees on multiple occasions state vulgar things / make fun of others, unprofessional boys-club environment - Poor management, frequently does not show up to planned checkpoints, overall failure to delegate to staff - Benefits/Compensation/Holidays are not good, especially considering the "Healthy way of Life" Mantra -Old technology, bulk of job involved maintaining finicky over-sized excel files that despite automation would break due to sheer size
