Pros

The culture and atmosphere here is that of family. Regardless of location, you are greeted with hello walking down the hall. I have worked here for a little over a year and have had extremely positive experiences. My boss has spent a great deal of time with me training me for what to expect and provides guidance when needed. The employees here make the department feel like a family and are genuinely concerned with each other's well being. People that work here and have stayed here long term believe in the mission and I can see this everyday in the work they do. An emphasis is placed on work life balance so that no employee burns out on workload.

Cons

I feel that LifeNet Health is moving in the right direction with the culture of continuous improvement in daily tasks and work. As with all employers, there are good days and bad days. The bad days here are a little less 'bad' compared to some of the places I have worked due to the support I have received.

Pros

Decent benefits, regular pay increases and bonuses, flexibility in scheduling. Helping others and making a difference every day. Helping grieving families in their time of need. Great experience and training for your next job.

Cons

Starting pay is quite low. Several members of management are unacceptable, especially the current director. He is constantly berating employees and threatening their jobs. Has no people skills and makes jokes that are inappropriate and insulting. There is much favortism in the department and the mistakes of the chosen ones are overlooked, while others are written up. Inappropriate conversations go on every day, but they are selectivity overlooked, depending on who does the talking. I have seen many bright, eager, hard-working employees quit due to eventual frustration and disallusionment. Turnover is extremely high. It's a shame they cannot complete such an important mission while simultaneously treating their employees with compassion and resepct.

Pros

For the most part good people doing meaningful work- pay is fairly competitive for industry.

Cons

Organization is taking a different turn. Used to be a fantastic place to work, now some of the best leaders that lifenet had are stepping away. Seems to be a monetary chase as opposed to values-driven. Sad to have to walk away from what used to be a place I considered home.

Thank you for your response. While a couple of leaders have retired over the last two years, the vast majority of management has a long tenure with LifeNet Health. We appreciate your advice and we will remain true to our mission.
