Pros

You learn about angles and posing, but not as much as you would think. You get a little more creative freedom in other fields like sports, spring term, and prestige. You can enter contests monthly to have your work shown off in an annual newsletter. Taking pictures and interacting with kids can be fun. Paid mileage, but unless you’re traveling far, it won’t be that big of a paycheck.

Cons

Training is practically nonexistent. Miscommunication and lack of communication are the norms. Scheduling is horrible and could change the night before a job. They say it's a job that requires flexibility, but it's way beyond being flexible, you’re basically expected to have no life. The manager says Lifetouch wants you to be available on days off "just in case," even though there are on-call shifts. The manager also made multiple rude comments to coworkers that made the photographers’ work feel invalid. The supervisor is very nice, but obviously and understandably overwhelmed. The information from the school is typically inaccurate or not provided. More overnights than expected, but they will provide a hotel if you ask. You’re expected to go to the office to pick stuff up on the weekends. Huge turnover rate. There are lots of technical issues.

Pros

Different location everyday. Get paid to drive.

Cons

Rude teachers, getting up super early to go to schools two hours away. A lot of miles on car. You don’t work all year.

Pros

Pay starts once you start driving to your school. Advance knowledge of about 2 weeks for your schedule. Kids are great and fun to work with! Getting home earlier in the day (later on)

Cons

Oftentimes you just eat snacks and no lunch because of high volume schools and not enough photographers. The pay isn't enough for the difficult aspects of the job Waking up at 4-5am Overtime at first then it dwindles. To be expected of certain temp jobs I suppose.
