Pros

Everyone is engaged in profitable growth Stable employment. Most employees are at least 5 years and up. Many are 15, 20, 25 years of service. Great work-life balance. Family comes first.

Cons

Upward growth/mobility is limited due to long term employees. Long term employees become entrenched so to speak, and short of that person retiring/otherwise the opportunity to move up in the organization is limited. Industry is in decline. School, and portrait photography industry is in decline. Less customers are considering professional portraiture. There is a lack of innovation, and in an industry in decline innovation is paramount.

Pros

Summers and Winters off, Early start times and early finish times, fun environment, there are a few opportunities to move up in the company, you are automatically enrolled in employee stock with the company, they pay mileage and an hourly driving pay for traveling to each center.

Cons

High turnover and those that have been there for years get special treatment, you have to go on unemployment in the off season, You can have up to 100 mile radius to travel daily, expensive benefits, germs germs germs (prepare to get sick at least a few times a year), "Full time" is hardly ever 40 hours a week, this job would be very difficult for someone who needs to provide for a family because the pay and unemployment compensation is low.

Pros

Meet a lot of nice people. Good retirement plan.

Cons

Lack of stability. Lay off of employees 1-2 times per year, every year. Employee owned so decisions are made that would never fly in a public company. Nepotism is very normal and there is no company rules against it. Far behind technological curve which creates huge work inefficiencies.
