Pros

Lifetouch is a good place to work to get some work experience. It is good for people who don't like a desk job and have energy, and of course enjoy working with children and teens. The office was organized and with weekly meetings and employee mailboxes, communcation and updates were on point most of the time.

Cons

The only other major con is that the work is seasonal-Spring and Fall have the most hours, with summer being slow unless you can get in at the studio. The pay is low, but you can get small raises as you go up (I was just working there temporarily to help with bills so I chose to stay only as an assistant.

Pros

Everyday is usually always different than the previous day. Get to capture memories. Photograph kids.

Cons

Not enough hourly pay- barely minimum wage (still after working here for more than 3 years and still have had no raise. If something goes wrong at the school it's usually on "us" to figure it out. No communication from the upper people to the photographers whatsoever. We're just basically with the company to "take pictures" if even that anymore. The company policies keep changing and I feel as though there is no magic in capturing these children's school memories anymore. With these new policies in effect it also makes it tougher for us to pose these kids now and get a good quality picture. The management knows how hard we struggle and try to take our time on each kid but they still want to criticize our pictures after we come back from a 10hr shift and expect to see changes the next day. I just wish they took one week max and "walk in our shoes" and remember what it was like to have to wake up in the crack of dawn go to these school, deal with the stress of trying to cope with these kids and most of the time the school's staff and then to have to tear down and drive back home to be told that our pictures still aren't good enough. When will we ever be good enough?
