Pros

Great staff and great owner, salary comparable to other centers in Indiana, a lot of perks (such as social functions within the company), PTO, overtime and the overall culture. The CEO knows what he's doing.

Cons

The high turnover rate in the rural centers, this is a norm with ABA as it comes with the career but it's always a con.

Pros

Lighthouse Autism Center has THE most passionate individuals in place to carry out programs that are carefully monitored and personalized by Pod Managers to meet the needs of clients and their families. I felt extremely proud to be a part of this team. Therapists encourage each other to put forth maximum energy, effort, patience and love above all. Because of this, I felt motivated, productive and fulfilled during my time here. Upper management is extremely approachable and are hands-on in every aspect of the company. Constant training assures every therapist and their supportive staff are on the same page to deliver the best care and feel comfortable doing so safely and effectively. There was never a moment where I felt that I lacked the necessary support or tools I needed to carry out my tasks and Senior Therapists never failed to jump right in when I needed an extra hand. I gained so much insight to the world of Autism Spectrum Disorder and appreciate the time and resources I received to be trained in Applied Behavior Analysis, which is highly desirable across this service industry.

Cons

Understandably in the industry, the compensation was less than what I needed to meet my long-term goals. While I appreciated that I never had to take work home as a therapist, the workday is demanding so I eventually felt the need to shift gears. I understand organizational culture can change easily and towards the end of my employment, the culture had changed with the incoming of new employees and the attitudes of "veterans".
