Toxic Work Environment with Poor Leadership and No Support – Avoid Lima Memorial Hospital
Pros
Pay - that's the only pro about working there
Cons
I worked at Lima Memorial Hospital and had a truly awful experience. The management, particularly the manager I reported to, created an incredibly toxic work environment. The manager would frequently yell and reprimand employees in front of coworkers, making everyone feel belittled and uncomfortable. There was no proper training, and I was expected to do the work of two people without any support or guidance. The atmosphere was so tense that we all walked on eggshells. When the manager was in a bad mood, we all knew to either close our office doors or leave the area altogether, as the manager was known to be “on the war path.” It was a stressful and demoralizing way to work. There was also a serious lack of professionalism. The manager would openly tell nurse case managers to go against doctors’ orders, simply saying "no" without any valid reason or respect for the medical professionals involved. It was clear that this behavior was not just poor leadership, but deeply disrespectful to the entire team. If you value a respectful, supportive, and organized work environment, I would strongly advise against seeking employment at Lima Memorial Hospital.
