Pros

The work is very interesting. There was a lot of learning about medical terms and subjects, as well as billing and financial stuff. Depending on the office, a lot of the people are great, and fun to work with.

Cons

While trying its hardest to present itself as "customer-driven" it is, in reality, very "profit-driven". As a result, the customers sometimes suffer.

Pros

It is what you make it. I've read many negative reviews about the company. But when you look at many of the cons, the complaints are really against Medicare and their ever-changing requirements. You have to be able to change your strategy mid-stride because Medicare changes their strategies just as quickly. Bottom line: Medicare is looking to cut expenses (at the expense of their patients.) It's our job at Lincare to work within Medicare requirements to get the best possible care for our patients. It is a big job, no doubt about it. It's hard. But it's not Lincare's fault that the paperwork is so extensive. A common misconception is that our competitors don't have the same requirements. And while that is true, Medicare's requirements are the same no matter which company you work for. In the short term, our competitors submit their paperwork with less care than we do and get paid for their services! But in the long-term, they get hit with an eventual Medicare audit and have to refund the money to Medicare because their paperwork wasn't in order and then they are in danger of losing their ability to bill Medicare at all. How many companies have closed their does because of this? If you think of the extensive paperwork requirements as job security, it's really in your favor. I've also seen a lot of complaints from sales representatives about the difficulty in being reimbursed for their expenses. I average about $500-$1000 per month in expenses and the only time I've ever been denied my reimbursement has been due to an error on my part. I fix my error, I resubmit, I get paid within two weeks. If you fail to submit an itemized receipt, your claim will be denied. If you submit a reimbursement request for alcohol, it will be denied. If you submit a reimbursement request for "gifts" or for not getting prior approval for the expense, your claim will be denied. It's not difficult and it's not unreasonable. Be organized, be diligent, and be smart. It's that easy. Technology of the company is behind the times. That is true. However, the are putting forth a concerted effort to move us forward in this area. And yet, for the HIPAA protection of our patients, we will never be high tech. You simply can't hack our systems. I support that. Again, short term versus the long-term. A final thought: as a company, we are subject to LAWS that other industries are not subject to. Some of our work is redundant and even senseless. However, this is not the fault of the company. This is the result of DOH, FDA, and AOG requirements. If you are not a person who is detail oriented, who is careless, or a person without integrity, you will not do well with this company. They have a great system of checks and balances, all geared toward the legal and ethical administration of their company. It is serious and has serious consequences when the laws are not strictly adhered to. Again, it's in your best interest that the company requires us all to operate within the law. It is frustrating and discouraging at times, but it's a protection for you as well as the company. Attitude and persoective are everything.

Cons

The wrong employee can make life miserable for the entire center. If you aren't a team-player, look elsewhere for a job.

Pros

To have a job there is really nothing good about Lincare! The pay is half of what other managers make.

Cons

Everything Lincare is not about the employees and the pay is crap. I m salary n work at least 55 hours a week n get nothing for it but Lincare wanting more from me. Nothing is good enough for them.
