Too much

Pros

Nice coworkers and managers. Pay slightly above average, and good benefits.

Cons

It was great for a while, but then they started crosstraining phone reps in every area. That's a lot of areas. It's too much. Now most have become jacks of all trades and masters of none. They go way overboard with the whole metrics thing. They want you to be working every possible millisecond. They can tell if your stop typing for 15 seconds. They pay okay, but they ask a lot in return. I'm exhausted at the end of every shift.

Pros

Great benefits - up to 10% match for retirement. Strong learning culture with HR programs. Decent PTO and holidays.

Cons

The section of the company I worked for didn’t have strong leadership for management or work-life balance. I was seen as a situation to manage, heavy focus on numbers. I am a salaried employed but frequently have to track my hours worked. Also, mentality is the more hours you work outside of 40, the more opportunity you have for promotion. There is no flexible, remote work option. I am scheduled to 8-5, no negotiation. A lot of the company works on Saturdays too, I get many emails from people over the weekend. I have to plan my PTO out for the year. There is little to no career development from my manager. Mistakes are not forgiven, heavy micromanagement from small errors such as missing a deadline that does not impact business operations but is self imposed. Little to no opportunity for innovation. Very much a “do as you are told”. Like I said, it is isolated to my area of the business so make sure you’re asking good question in your interview to get an idea of the culture.

Going downhill

Pros

Getting to work from home

Cons

Everything, low pay, micromanaging, unrealistic metric goals to were if you miss 1 out of twelve month they write you up. Corp. BS track everything must follow a schedule even if you are not on the phone team. feels like they just want you to fail. Management has an excuse for everything when you come with a complaint or recommendations to improve productivity. Management is poor from your direct manger all the way up to upper management. Run if you can
