Pros

Most teachers genuinely care about helping students. There are a few people in administration who are trying to do the right thing regardless of being forced to use questionable tactics. The pay is higher than working for state regulated colleges. Historically this school was very successful at providing a great education and opening doors for graduates.

Cons

The Nashville school used to be a great place to work where the students came first. I was there over 15 years. When Lincoln bought the school everything went downhill. The president, managers and administration who cared about students and their success were forced out and replaced with a team of incompetent and unscrupulous high pressure 'used car salesman' type people. Many of these with either little education or ability on how to run a school. The schools established professionals people who knew the most were now being ' trained and coached' by incompetents who knew the least. Instead of enrolling good students as was the case at one time, this group focused on luring in anyone who could get a loan. Nashville's new leaders no longer care about the students, just their money. Even if a student fails or wants to run back home, it does not matter because they still get a chunk of their money. They will even send collections companies after families who cant afford to pay. A great sucker punch after convincing them into sending their loved ones to school for a better life and being so nice to them while they forced their hand into signing loan documents. I was not going to do that.

Pros

Students are grateful when teachers take care that they are learning. The sincerely motivated students inspire me as an educator to be there for them. Some teachers are very talented.

Cons

Management will lie about anything to save themselves from their deceitful behaviors. The Shelton Campus needs to install an automatic revolving door necessary to accommodate their high employee turnover. The big joke among non-managment personnel is that employees keep an empty 'Staples Box' close for when their turn comes as so many before them. Non-management employees are expected to carry on the facade that educating students is important to the company. The student retention rate is abominable. Most students realize too late the mistake they made in signing up to attend this school. Realizing how much debt they have accumulated in reading the small print from all the paperwork they signed in the beginning (the small percentage who are paying to attend) while not learning enough to compensate. Anyone who is honest or the least bit gullible will end up with a negative experience. Talented employees find it difficult to continue the charade.
