Pros

Opportunity to help and learn from working with kids with a great variety of learning challenges.

Cons

Upper level management either doesn’t recognize or doesn’t care about the talents and/or devotion of their workers, which leaves everyone feeling deeply unappreciated. Middle level management tries to hide their unhappiness, but they feel just as trapped as everyone else.

Undervalued when badly needed - a bad look

Pros

The kids can be great

Cons

(Benignly) cult-like - everything’s an anacronym, constant “mentoring” is more like having your shoulder looked over all the time. You make pennies on the dollar to what the company charges parents/ the DOE per hour per child while being the actual tutor to the child. HR is defensive and unhelpful.
