Pros

Working 1 on 1 with most students allows you to build relationships and give attention that would not otherwise be possible in a classroom setting. Everyone hired is so peppy and nice. Staff tends to be very supportive and encouraging. Very willing to work around your schedule. Weekdays only. You don't take work home with you (if you're a clinician that is).

Cons

Very little opportunity for advancement. Apparently quite a few clinicians that have been promoted to consultant don't stick around for too long due to having to deal with stress from management and constantly being available for parents of students. Despite the supportive work environment, the low rate of pay and the tendency to hire people on a seasonal or temporary basis alone tends to create a revolving door of employees. Hours can be unreliable. The low pay is absolutely insulting considering what other teaching jobs will pay. The company takes advantage of college students and fresh graduates and pays them nickels on the dollar for a few months before they inevitably leave on to something better. It is a business model built on cycling through teachers.

Pros

Great opportunity to work with kids of all ages teaching reading skills using proven techniques. Very strong and continuous support and training.

Cons

Pay is below expectations, hours may be limited, not the best place for most to grow. Not the best training for student behavioral concerns.

Pros

I started as a clinician RIGHT before the center shut-down, due to COVID. Although it was a hectic time to start a job, the company already had a successful online platform to transition to. Additionally, all of our resources were quickly transferred to an online platform. I joined the team after being a classroom teacher and can honestly say I am amazed by the teamwork and collaboration. In former work environments, resources were scarce and everyone was always stressed out. At Lindamood-Bell, I am smiling constantly and laugh every day. Above all, our programming truly works. I have taught other reading support programs that never quite met the needs of every student. At Lindamood-Bell, there are supports in place to monitor and adjust student plans as needed. I just can't say enough about how great this company is.

Cons

Although the starting pay is a bit low for someone with an advanced degree, there have been opportunities for raises regularly.
