Pros

Lindamood-Bell is ideal as a short-term way to make a few extra bucks. If you're an educator with summers off, it's perfect. You can choose to work 8-12 or 1-5 or work the entire 8 hours. The parents pay around $85/hour for treatment and some will hire you as a private tutor and pay you around $50/hour for your services. The LBLP methodology is highly respected!

Cons

LOW PAY. Wow, I mean come on. We're living in one of the most expensive parts of the country (Bay Area, CA) and we're making, ohhhhh a dollar more per hour than the clinicians in podunk, indiana? Pay your clinicians a living wage and maybe you won't have so much turnover.

Treat all staff better

Pros

It’s rewarding to see students improve. Many of the families are lovely and appreciative of what you do for their child. Good experience with students of all kinds and all ages.

Cons

This company takes advantage of its employees by overwhelming them with workload and spreading them too thin. They’ll throw more responsibilities at you and expect you to do other people’s work without any additional compensation. They drive many of the most competent employees to realizing they deserve to be treated better and paid more, until they eventually quit. That’s why many of the leadership is extremely green and don’t know how to run a center, and many centers are going downhill, some are even closing. This company doesn’t seem to care about employee longevity or retention and does hardly anything to incentivize current staff to stay (e.g. they stopped giving annual raises and even stopped annual reviews for that matter). Meanwhile they offer hundreds and thousands of dollars as a bonus to new hires and rehires but long term employees get no acknowledgment and seem to have no value. The pay doesn’t keep up with the cost of living even though they raise product prices yearly. They’ll say they’re not doing well financially but then they promote staff that are already high up to brand new positions no one else even knew existed. Not great business practices overall and lacking morals.

Pros

Working one on one with a student.

Cons

Low wage. Inconsistent hours. Not enough hours. No hope of growth or advancement. Parents pay $20,000 for 15 weeks but the clinicians only make 20$ an hour! Workers have to accumulate sick hours at a very slow rate. It seem like I get one sick day every two months! You have to work on holidays.
