Pros

Some of the kids are fun to work with. Rewarding to see kids improve, which happens fairly often.

Cons

Pay is an absolute joke. Good luck living anywhere besides a dumpster on what they pay you. I have been working here for years; student fees have increased nearly 50%, all while tutors haven’t received a single raise. Work is tedious, boring, repetitive, and thankless. Morale is low, and upper managements attempts to motivate staff are absolutely pathetic. If you’re in a college and need to make a quick buck over the summer, give it a shot. Otherwise, STAY AWAY.

You can make a difference in a child's life.

Cons

Bad work environment. Zero appreciation. Not given enough time to get your work done. You take the blame when the student doesn't meet the high expectations that were sold to the parents.

The role includes overseeing lesson plans and instructional quality for assigned students, as well as parent interaction about student progress. We expect the Consultant to be given adequate time, guidance, and support from the Center Leadership team to confidently perform duties. Thank you for letting us know about your experience. While we are disappointed to hear your comment about lack of appreciation, we value the feedback. We make changes based on input like yours. For example, we recently made adjustments to our staff recognition program events and will continue to improve our communication in this regard. We absolutely want all learning center staff to feel appreciated for the work they are doing to change the lives of students. Thank you again for your review.

Getting to work with students one on one.

Cons

Never given enough time to complete tasks, very stressful. Parents often extremely dissatisfied and you have to answer for it even though you're not the one who promised great results.
