Pros

Seeing kids grow and make fantastic progress. The programs are really great. There are many opportunities to move up within the company. Good option for summer employment for teachers and recent college graduates. In most locations you can get full time hours each week, even in a seasonal position.

Cons

Burn out is the biggest issue staff face. Some centers are extremely seasonal, but some centers are busy year round. The experience clinicians (staff that work 1:1 with students) have can vary wildly from one center to the next as well. Corporate executives are disconnected from learning centers. They have changed training so that managers have more development and support; however, they demand too much from center management. You are expected to manage sales, grassroots marketing, professional outreach, manage the center, develop staff, and act as a principal for Lindamood-Bell Academy. In management roles, you are expected to give everything to your job. It's not uncommon for people to work 50+ hours a week, and take work home just to keep up with the work load. The salary doesn't match the expectation.

Pros

- works with children of varying levels - 1:1 instruction and tailored programs to meet children's needs - weekly dress up

Cons

- incompetent management - unqualified people to be running the place - promote people based on personal preference - long hours, not worth the pay

Hard work for little pay

Pros

-I loved working with the students on an individual basis. -The programs actually worked. it was a great feeling to see how much my students improved over the course of a few weeks -Great temporary summer job with lots of hours if that's what you're looking for

Cons

-Not enough pay nor training for the work we were expected to do day in and day out, especially considering how expensive the program is and how little of it went to those of us who in my opinion were working the hardest. -I worked with children with severe diagnoses, something that was entirely new to me and didn't feel like I was trained properly for this work and beyond that didn't feel entirely supported when I raised questions.
