Impactful work, great people, but needs a serious management overhaul
Pros
Smart co-workers, thorough (paid) training, great experience if you are interested in teaching or education management. You will have plenty of students who are lovely, cooperative, and genuinely want to learn. There are smaller perks too; the hour-long lunch and frequent breaks (5 minutes after each session). The programs are effective and getting to see kids progress is really affirming. That alone (almost) makes everything else worth it.
Cons
Company culture is silly and replete with jargony phrases that you are encouraged to repeat verbatim. Comparatively low pay for a tough job (especially considering what LMB charges parents per hour). Several kids have behavioral issues, which was not disclosed during my hiring process and which I did not feel I was qualified to handle. Corporate refuses to acknowledge that "motivators" alone occasionally do not work, and there is virtually no room to discipline students who are rude or disrespectful.
