Pros

Students come from all ages, backgrounds, and personalities. There are those that clearly need more support, and others that simply need some mild remediation. Regardless, some kids benefitted and they were amazing to work with.

Cons

- The program charges parents five-figure amounts for a six-week summer program, and more for their private school curriculum. It does not reflect in the wages. There are no bonuses, and there's a merit wage increase a year capped at 3% (+50-60 cents hardly adjusts for inflation). - There is a lot of emotional labor in this job. None of the training covers that, and much of "behavioral management" entails scoreboards on a jamboard. - Intensity: Once you clock in, your time is allocated to documenting/digital paperwork/student management to the minute, frequently multi-tasking. You may be assigned a new student at the last minute with three minutes to familiarize yourself with the material. - The turnover rate is very high and has only gotten higher. The staff I was hired into were welcoming and such interesting people. These past few years, everyone has changed faces and I hardly get to know a fellow clinician despite being in regular contact before they leave.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Lindamood-Bell. We understand that working on the instruction team can be demanding, with various responsibilities. We strive to provide our employees with the time and resources they need to succeed. Regarding student behavior management, we provide ongoing training in how to help students stay on task, and the corporate instruction team assists with students who require individualized behavior plans. We also work with a student’s outside team of professionals whenever possible. Setting the stage for success is core to our approach. We regret that you did not always feel adequately supported. We take feedback seriously in an effort to improve our workplace and communication. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and for your contribution to Lindamood-Bell over the years. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

Good teaching experience if you want to learn more about teaching students with differential needs.

Cons

- They will not pay you for the "extra hats" that you wear as an employee with the company - They will overwork you to the point of burnout and still expect you to dedicate yourself to the company in ways you are not expected to do anywhere else - They do not take student conduct seriously - Will completely ignore your needs as a person let alone as an employee - The turnover rate is so high. 6 people have quit in the last 3 weeks alone

Thank you for reviewing Lindamood-Bell. We are glad to hear that you value the experience you have gained in your role. Unfortunately, several descriptions conflict with our practices. For example, our policy is to prioritize the safety of employees and students in all situations. Instruction is paused in cases of physical misconduct, and incidents are immediately escalated to the corporate management team and the Human Resources department. We take safety very seriously, and while we appreciate your candor in this forum, we urge you to discuss your concerns with your supervisor or Human Resources.
