Exploitative workplace

Pros

Working with students directly and getting to see their lives change for the better in real time is incredibly rewarding.

Cons

It's a very exploitative work environment with little empathy or flexibility. This job is, by necessity, pretty emotionally taxing, as is any teaching job, but the corporation is much more interested in profits than in treating you or the students like human beings.

Pros

Extremely supportive, caring, and positive environment. Leadership really cares about their staff and students, providing ample training time for tutors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all. The Center Director is also extremely knowledgeable about Lindamood-Bell programs, instruction, and evaluations, and always happy to assist in any session or speak to any parent about their child. I've always felt appreciated, valued, and able to ask questions.

Cons

None that I can think of - my only con currently is the commute, which is not something the company can control.

Pay is low and developing a high level of expertise is seen as a threat to other employees, especially those at the corporate level.
