Pros

Opportunity to help and learn from working with kids with a great variety of learning challenges.

Cons

Upper level management either doesn’t recognize or doesn’t care about the talents and/or devotion of their workers, which leaves everyone feeling deeply unappreciated. Middle level management tries to hide their unhappiness, but they feel just as trapped as everyone else.

Pros

The people you work with are usually kind hearted individuals. I love every single person I work with and I can't say that about anywhere else I have worked. They have a two week (80 total hours) of training for their two most common programs and mentor session to help you improve continuously. As someone without any teaching background, $16/hour is fair. Someone with a teaching background, absolutely not. They do seem to have good health insurance from what I have heard. This is the most diverse place I have ever worked. Of the approximately 13 people I work with, there is representation for all races, several religions, and many origins. I love and admire my immediate bosses. They are wonderful people who really do care and try to advocate for their employees. I cannot say the same about corporate. I also am very fond of my coworkers. There is a strong sense of teamwork and accountability and support.

Cons

This company does not care about employee retention. The turnover rate is incredibly high. Most people dont last more than a few months. Burnout is unavoidable. They run on Google Docs. They are a nearly 50 million dollar company that just bought every employee new mac books, yet they have no internal system? The way they have their online video system set up leaves the students completely vulnerable. Literally anyone could enter a session. While they are primarily an in-person instruction, this is 2021 and we've been online on and off for nearly two years now. They claim to require a bachelors degree to work there but this is not the case, likely do to their desperation for employees since the turnover rate is so high. I find this deceptive to the parents paying around $2000 per week to send their kids there.
