Great Growth, Extreme Politics

Pros

Linkedin is the best corporate job I have had so far, but took a turn for the worse. They build culture with many amazing events, offer great perks, and amazing benefits. They do treat their employees well in a growing division. Internal mobility is still achievable at this stage.

Cons

The marketing solutions segment suffers from consistent reorganizations which lead to suffering morale and employee attrition. The lack of product investment is creating retention issues as well. Many of the products are not effective, which may create long term harm since customers do not want to buy again. Politics have gotten very serious. It is feeling like a large corporation of over 10K employees even though there are currently 4K. There have been very few promotions in the past year.

It was good, until it wasn't

Pros

Company morale building events like InDays, parties and t-shirts for everything, free meals, fitness programs, on-site chair massages and car-detailing.

Cons

Disconnect between preached values and actual practice of those values. "Promoted by your peers" = promotion based on how much the management likes your personality, not based on merit or experience. Getting too big - turning into nameless existence; walking across the floor and not recognizing half the faces isn't the company culture I had when I started here. In experienced middle management.

Fun but political

Pros

Fun environment and great people to work with. The technology is grea,t they feed you and you're working for a well known company

Cons

Very political. If you're not in the circle of founding employees, you don't have much clout. Engineers and managers have quit because their jobs were obstructed by employees who felt they could run things the way they wanted just because they are in that inner circle.
