Unreasonable suspension of vendor accounts

Pros

I have enjoyed a positive working relationship with Lionbridge for nearly two years, working extra time without complaint due to questionably calibrated production metrics. I appreciate the extra money, but reliability counts.

Cons

Recently after receiving two monthly platinum-level quality reviews ( the highest possible --88% +), my account has been suspended two months in a row with no notice and poor explanations. Last month it was suspended out the blue for almost a week. Today's email showed a subject/verb agreement error in the opening sentence, and they are complaining about my quality? Plus, they state they cannot give me a date or deadline about when I will hear back about whether my work meets their standards. I have hardly completed any tasks since my last glowing review. This is not a reasonable way to treat people. It's unethical and dishonest. I don't think I can continue to work for leprechauns like this much longer.

Pros

Some flexibility in scheduling, working from home.

Cons

I initially accepted a flexible telecommuting position with this company, thinking it would be the perfect fit to supplement my income. Think again. A 4 hour a day job quickly became a 7 hour a day job, having to respond to emails, study training materials, and be subjected to constant interrogation of you work performance. All of this unpaid, and on your time, as the company did not allow admin time. Shifting guidelines and criteria led to confusion regarding expected goals. In the end, work was terminated with no specific reason given, other than saying ´it was a combination of things, nothing specific´.

Pros

There are none at all. Lionbridge is a place to work if you can't get a job anywhere else due to poor economy, lack of formal education, or if Adecco is the only other place hiring.

Cons

The pay is nowhere near market value (salary.com: Test Engineer/Test Technician). At $11 /hr, the kind of people they can get are either incredibly stupid (which decreases the morale and optimistic attitudes of other employees), or they are unable to find any other job, so they feel trapped in the first place. The entire company is very immature, and very political. Management is extremely involved in everything, but there is no consistency to the management, so often, people will feel that they can't take time off or work on something special because the form to use is not clear. One person i wrote up for sleeping on the job was allowed to continue working simply because the form i used for the formal write-up was lost, and no one allowed me to keep a copy of it. One employee was unable to attend his father's funeral because HR lost his employee paperwork and his time off request was denied. One employee did not receive a final paycheck because HR removed him from payroll before the payroll was processed, and then demanded that he reapply for the job he left so he could get his final check.
