Pros

LIONBRIDGE: Work at home - but Not worth it ! - - Very Few Hours - most days wasting time to login to find no work.

Cons

LIONBRIDGE: Horrible Co to work for. You spend more HOURS doing Practice Tests and Logging on and Waiting for Work Online and Recording Results and TimeLogs (NONE of this You get Paid for) - than You are Actually PAID for. -Say Paid for 1-Hour for Every 3-Hours that You spend. - They popped a 1 week of Practice Testing about every 2 months. You are Told NOT to do ANY WORK - and YOU get NO PAY for the Week that You insist that You Waste on these Tests ! They claim 30-Hours per Week, but You are Lucky to get 30-HOURS Per Month. You need to Login Every Morning and Evening -to Check for Work (say 1/2 Hour per Login and hourly checking - morning plus evening). Maybe 4 Halfdays of Work for first week of the Month, then maybe 1 or 2 Halfdays of work following weeks. At 2-4 Hours per Halfday. Plus additional 1 Hour per day to Log Your times (also consider that the server often does not work -you may need to spend 2 hours logging-again-andagain or email). - Calculate: which yields about 20-30 Hours PAY, per 40-60 hours of actual work time, per Month.

Pros

Experiencing the complete global scope of current localization work for big companies in a hands-on way every day. Excellent place to finetune problem-solving, communication and client-service skills Technology-driven Many mandatory training courses (including project management) Interesting and international colleagues Telecommuting

Cons

Finance procedures (budgeting, invoicing, projecting) can take up to 50% percent of your work time. Most of the reasons for this fact are internal: Instable and cumbersome finance applications, bad finance workflow across departments. This has been going on for years; it is not likely to change anytime soon. Senior management announcements often appear to come from another planet and while that's not unusual in general it is extreme at LB: CEO--energetic, data-driven, oriented towards creating a group-feeling momentum. CTO--awkward and aggressive in pushing shoestring-budget tech solutions/workflows on employees (poor follow-up when things go wrong or don't work). Tinkering with your own PC will take a lot of your time, especially during times when company-wide procedures will require all to participate on deadline (month's end, quarter's end).
