A good place to start out as an individual contributor, but poor outlook for the company

Pros

Strong technical individuals. Excellent benefits (health insurance, catered lunches). Open and collaborative employees. Plenty of diversity, supportive of foreign workers (i.e. visa sponsorships). When focused on an objective, the company can execute!

Cons

Not a place to grow as a manager - eg, people managers are not involved in formal reviews and compensation inputs for their staff. Exec team tends to micromanage, lacks vision, and is too reliant on a rapidly eroding market/customer base. A revolving door with sales and marketing executives is a troubling sign. Compensation packages not competitive in the Valley.

Pros

LitePoint has a leading position in wireless testing with good technical innovations, and it is a technically exciting place to be. There are many good people. Free lunch and good benefits.

Cons

Since the management change in 2014, it is no longer a fun place to work for many. The workplace atmosphere has degraded.

Good engineering company that struggles with dysfunctional processes.

Pros

Good people, great health benefits and work-life balance. Many 'A' players that know their stuff and get things done. Great place to learn hardware and firmware.

Cons

Very tribal, you need to know who to go to because nothing is documented. Little to no career development opportunities. Product is always done when the lead customer places an order, then engineering moves on and it's up to sales to convince rest of the world the product is what they need. Some senior managers can be abrasive, bordering on inappropriate on a far too regular basis. Lack of process can be frustrating due to same mistakes being made in product after product.
