The company just laid off staff that didn’t fall under the family and friends category. They claim to have an open door policy, and open to suggestions, but as soon as you call them out on their lies, disorganization, favoritism and unrealistic expectations, you will be blackballed. Once you’ve come to that realization and question them on it, they will gaslight you. You want to keep your job? Move to Washington, befriend upper management, constantly ask for extra work even though they have none, and keep your mouth shut. It’s really a friends and family affair. They address the same person in every single Tuesday meeting, as if the rest of the staff didn’t matter. Certain members of upper management are consistently disengaged with staff. They expect you to work quick, but not efficient. If you’re not quick, then you’re not working hard enough. That’s how they see it, and you will face the consequences of being thorough. The templates required to use for certain programs always had bad grammar and misspelled words. The work of a toddler. Whoever came up with it probably did it quickly, and that’s all that matters.
