Pros

Liven is by far the best company I have ever worked for. There is a great company culture. As the only person living in Adelaide right now it can be hard having the rest of the team being in Sydney and Melbourne - however the team is in constant contact and having team "donut" meetings is a great way to make sure everyone is feeling included in the team and not left out. The ops team are constantly working hard to make sure the app is running at its full strength and continually innovating the brand. The marketing team are always finding new and beautiful ways to market the brand to clients and new customers. They really care about mental health and if you need time off they will always encourage it. That is the kind of culture you want and need in a business.

Cons

With startups there are always going to be things that dont work. As we are constantly innovating the brand and adding new features - sometimes it can be hard to keep up with it all.

Pros

Liven trusts it's employees a lot. This means you have the flexibility to push yourself as much as you want while having the backing of your peers and the supervision of experienced staff. If there are parts of the business that you want to learn more about but haven't had the opportunity in the past, Liven is the perfect place to upskill. If you're a dev and want to learn sales or vice versa, Liven is very accomodating.

Cons

It can be too flexible. Sometimes you don't know if you're on the right track unless you explicitly ask (which takes a lot of balls) The pay isn't great. That's the price you pay for opportunity to grow. I'd still take Liven over Deloitte with an extra 30k, any day of the week (n.b. Liven does pay more than Deloitte pays graduates)

Pros

Despite what is being said below, by certain keyboard warriors... I have been working at Liven for the past 2 years and have enjoyed every single moment. As the nature of start ups go, we have been through a lot - experiencing some serious highs, and some rough patches too. However, through it all, what has remain constant is the reason why I come to work everyday. The people. We have created an environment that breads innovation, encourages failure and most importantly, a profound sense of camaraderie. We are on a mission to change the way people pay and I’m certain with the current (…and future) crop of motivated individuals we have/will have in this company, we will soon be globally recognised, not only for our product, but for our culture too.

Cons

We love to try new products and processes, in order to find the most beneficial one for the whole company - however at times, in the past, the introduction and on-boarding to certain tools became quite clunky experience and time consuming. Since then, we have found the right processes (for now) that work for us all!
